DeVotchKa to celebrate 20th anniversary of the music from ‘Little Miss Sunshine’ with 2026 UK tour

DeVotchKa have announced details of a UK tour, celebrating 20 years of the music from Little Miss Sunshine. Find all the details below.

The band first got approached to write the music for the hit 2006 film after filmmakers Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris heard them playing on a Santa Monica radio station.

They went on to soundtrack and score the movie, which went on to help shape the trajectory of indie cinema. The songs, including ‘Til the End of Time’ and ‘How It Ends’ went hand-in-hand with the plot of the film, following the Hoover family’s journey across the country, and capturing the themes of hope, resilience, and beautifully imperfect dreams.

Now, the Denver group have revealed that they will be performing live in the UK later this year, celebrating 20 years of the hit film and the soundtrack.

The tour will kick off at Glasgow’s Oran Mor on October 6, and continue the following night with a show at Manchester’s Gorilla.

From there, they will play at Heaven in London and Chalk in Brighton on October 9 and 10, before wrapping the tour up with a final stop at Lantern in Bristol on October 11.

Tickets go on sale on Friday February 27 at 10am local time. Visit here for tickets.

The soundtrack for the film, which starred Greg Kinnear, Steve Carell, Toni Collette, Paul Dano, Abigail Breslin, and Alan Arkin, saw DeVotchKa earn a Grammy nomination for Best Compilation Soundtrack Album. The film itself won two Oscars.

One of those awards went to Arkin for his portrayal of grandfather Edwin Hoover. The actor passed away in 2023, aged 89.
