Ice Spice Reveals Depression Caused Weight Loss, Not Ozempic: ‘I’m Better Now Tho’

Ice Spice is opening up about battling depression, which she revealed led to her drastic weight loss in 2024. Shutting down more social media claims that she was taking Ozempic, the Bronx native clapped back at a detractor Wednesday (Feb. 25).

Ice’s response came to an X user clowning a clip of her workouts. “This weak a– video just shows it was definitely from Ozempic,” the fan wrote.

“Na it was depression im better now tho,” she replied.

The Spice Cabinet came to the 25-year-old’s defense following her vulnerable admission. “I love you sister & i’m glad you’re doing better,” a fan replied.

Back in August 2024, while Ice was on the Y2K! World Tour, the “Deli” rapper hopped on X Spaces to shut down Ozempic allegations and credited working out and eating healthy. (Ozempic is an FDA-approved prescription medicine for Type 2 diabetes, but also has been used for weight loss.)

“I actually came on here to talk about that real quick. I wish y’all never learned the word Ozempic,” she said. “That’s one thing I wish. Oh my God! Like, what even is Ozempic? What the f— is that? Genuinely, what is that?”

Ice Spice continued: “You lazy-a– bi—es never heard of a gym? It’s called the gym, it’s called eating healthy, it’s called being on tour. Like, what the hell? Maybe if I was sitting at home all f—ing day, it’d be easier to stay big.”

About a week later, she followed up with a post to social media showing off her workout routine. “We beatin them allegations bae,” she added in the caption, dodging the Ozempic rumors.

On the music side, Ice Spice has yet to release a single in 2026. She closed out 2025 by making her voice-acting debut in The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants and releasing the SpongeBob song “Big Guy.”
