The Grammy-nominated Los Angeles girl group – assembled by Hybe and Geffen Records – shared the news yesterday (February 20) in a statement posted to Weverse.

The companies wrote that after “open and thoughtful conversations together, we are sharing that Manon will be taking a temporary hiatus from group activities to focus on her health and wellbeing.”

It went on to say that Hybe and Geffen Records “fully support this decision” and that KATSEYE “remains committed to showing up for one another and for the fans who mean everything to us.”

During the hiatus, the group will “continue scheduled activities during this time, and we look forward to being together again when the time is right.”

The group released their ‘Beautiful Chaos’ EP last year. The track ‘Gnarly’ was named as the fifth best song of the year by NME.

Speaking to NME last year, Manon reflected on the track, telling us: “I didn’t expect such a crazy song.” She added: “I was just super excited because I was like, ‘Oh my god, finally we can cuss!’”

Elsewhere, the group recently reflected on their rise to fame since winning Dream Academy in 2023, including the dark side of success. “If 1,000 people are, like, sending you death threats, it’s jarring,” Lara told the BBC. “Even if it’s not gonna happen, and it doesn’t mean anything, it’s heavy, and it’s jarring.”

The group have also said that they “really hope to” collaborate with Charli XCX in the future, describing her as an “inspiration”.

Their breakout hit ‘Gabriela’ was co-written by the ‘Brat’ star and scored the band their greatest chart success to date.
